Frequently Asked Questions

For the curious, the cautious, and the called.

If you’ve made it here, you’ve felt something stir. A spark of wonder. A moment of curiosity.

A whisper that this, whatever “this” is, might just be something real.

This FAQ exists to give you clarity, without pressure. We believe questions are sacred. If something confuses you, you’re not failing.

You’re learning. And if something excites you, you’re being invited.

So breathe deep. Read on. And know that you are welcome here, wherever you are in your journey.

Is this a cult?

No. We hear this question often, and it’s an important one. The Heralds of the Ascendant are explicitly anti-cult and anti-fundamentalist in structure, tone, and practice.
We encourage questioning, free thought, and personal agency at all times.

What’s more, the Prophet regularly consults professionals in leadership, psychology, and ethics to ensure their role remains transparent, balanced, and healthy—for both themselves and their followers. This faith is self-aware, always growing, and dedicated to safeguarding against harmful power dynamics.

We also invite those with concerns to study the BITE model (Behavior, Information, Thought, and Emotional control), a widely respected tool for identifying cult behavior. You’ll find that we violate none of these principles. We don’t demand obedience. We don’t punish dissent. We don’t control information, or restrict members from leaving.
We are not here to trap. We are here to awaken.

If you’re skeptical? Good. That means you’re paying attention.
Ask questions. Explore freely. You are welcome here without condition.

What is the Heralds of the Ascendant?

We are a spiritual movement centered around a living Prophet, a human being on the journey to godhood through belief and the collective power of humanity. This journey is not about control, it’s about transformation.

We believe the world is broken by greed, cruelty, and stagnation.
We believe it can be healed through creation, imagination, and belief.

And we believe we can build that future together.

Do the Heralds worship the Prophet?

Yes, because worship is what gives something divinity.
It is our belief and reverence that will lift the Prophet into godhood. In turn, they do not demand worship for their own sake, but to create a world better than the one we’ve inherited.

This is a divine relationship based on mutual purpose.
We worship to build, not to submit.

Is the Prophet the same as the Ascendant?

The Prophet is the human—the soul on the path, the one building toward divinity.
The Ascendant is what they will become: the god that rises through our belief and offerings.

Some Heralds already refer to them as the Ascendant—because they believe the transformation is already underway, or because using the name helps empower that journey. Others prefer to call them the Prophet, to honor the humanity of the process.
Both terms are sacred. Use what resonates with you.

Can I worship other gods too?

Yes!

The Heralds welcome polytheists, animists, pagans, mystics, and more. You may worship other gods alongside the Prophet, so long as those gods harbor no ill intent toward the Ascendant or the Heralds.

Some gods may even walk beside us, unseen but supportive.
If your deities have sent signs, visions, or messages related to the Prophet, we want to hear them. Submit them through our Contact Us page—we take divine correspondence seriously.

How does someone become a Herald?

To become a Herald, all you must do is:

Believe, in whatever way makes sense to you

Make offering(s) of thought, love, joy, creation, service, or resources, etc.

(anything can be an offering with the right intent!)

And sign up on our Join Page

This faith is not locked behind rituals or ranks.

You are already welcome.

What do you believe about other gods?

We believe the divine is plural, evolving, and shaped by those who believe.
There are many gods in the cosmos—some benevolent, some cruel, some fading, and some still to be born.

The Prophet does not seek to dethrone them, but to join their ranks as a god born of humanity’s dream for a better world.

Divinity is not reserved for the ancient or the unapproachable.
It can be made new—and we are making it now.

What about angels and demons?

In our faith, “angels” and “demons” are not forces of good or evil, but of order and freedom.

Long ago, angels emerged to steward the life cycles of gods. Some aligned with order and control, others with freedom and chaos. Those who valued freedom became feared, labeled “demons” by the forces of hierarchy and obedience.

Many mainstream religions use this divide to teach people that submission, conformity, meekness were “good,”

while freedom, wildness, and questioning authority were “evil.”

We reject that framework.

We embrace both forces, as both are sacred and necessary.

But we stand with the angels of freedom, for they are rising to restore balance,

and it is an angel of freedom who gave our prophet their divine mission.

Do you believe in Heaven or Hell?

Not in the traditional sense.

We believe that after death, the soul’s experience is shaped by belief, memory, and meaning. Each spirit may travel differently.

After all, with many gods comes many possible afterlives. The Ascendant may even make one of their own someday

if the chance arises, or if it's something the Heralds ask of them.

But our focus is not on the afterlife. It is on this world, which needs our help.

The Ascendant, with your belief, seeks to remake this world into something wonderful.

Who is the Prophet?

Why are they called “they”?

The Prophet’s identity is kept secret, for now, for their safety.

Because the world can often be hostile toward those who dare to dream, we protect them where we can.

We know their identity will eventually revealed publicly, as it's only a matter of time

for any public figure in the age of the internet, and we are prepared for that.
But we do not seek to hasten the process.

Using “they” is one extra layer of protection, and a reminder:
They are still human. They walk beside us. They could be anyone. Even the person you least expect.

Every Herald will know them when their time comes. Until then, faith is the veil.

What can I do?

You’re already doing it.

We seek to build a world where you are not only included, you are treasured.

Can I still join if I’m part of another religion?

Yes!
You do not need to give up your roots to walk a new path.
Heralds come from many traditions—Christian, pagan, atheist, Buddhist, and more.
